It was a really dry start to the year 2020 here at BOOGAL CATTLE. The dry conditions carried on from a dry Spring and Summer in 2019. A fall of 20 mms on Christmas Day 2019 gave us some breathing space and since that time we have received ‘adequate’ falls of rain to see us through for a while.
Although we have not been lucky enough to be under any really big rain clouds, the 98mms we have received to mid March, through an accumulation of small falls, has seen the country respond reasonably well. We were extremely thankful to see much bigger totals over at our ‘Glenleigh Bull Depot ‘( just 10 minutes over the range !!) ….and so our ‘up and coming’ grass- reared bulls are looking in great form and will be ready for inspection in a few months.
A short series of photos below touching briefly on our happenings at ‘Boogalgopal’ over the past few months.
Dusty end to a day’s mustering at the home yards.
Still dusty at the Main Yards as we yard a paddock of stud breeders.

Stunning skies in the uncertain showery weather
and the young bull calves are in full bloom early March
We may not have managed the big rainfall totals but ‘hope springs eternal’ for the remaining few months before winter. Run-off inducing rain would be great to fill a few dams but with good underground water, things are still looking good. The colourful sunsets have been something to see!
We look forward to weaning in April and also to welcoming clients to inspect this years bulls.
