The Spring/ Summer season at Boogalgopal got off to a dry start with calves born into drying paddocks.
A little random rain in November greened a few of the breeder paddocks
We decided to go ahead with our yearly AI programme despite the far from optimal season. Semen from polled grey brahman bulls was used including LMC Pistolero and Ambassador. We have been impressed with the progeny of these bulls in our earlier programmes. We also enjoy this time when the heifer mob is close to the house for observation.

Observation and extra feeding time at the home yards
With the AI programme finished, we moved into mustering the commercial paddocks in the lease ccountry where we use all home bred bulls with pleasing results. This is a good testing ground for our grass-fed paddock sale bulls as we guarantee their ability to produce good calves in all conditions.

Steer consignments to the meatworks will begin in a few weeks , but already we have had some pleasing results and prices from fat cow consignments. Some of these are shown below being mustered in
As the weather dries off more and more , we have been busy keeping water, tanks, troughs and pipe lines free from issues!… and finishing off some projects in the shed.
……..and enjoying some spectacular sundowns…..and still hoping it will rain soon.
