WEANING 2018

In mid May 2018, on a crisp Autumn morning we began the weaning for the year.

Following a reasonable season, the calves and cows were all in good condition and the whole process through to yard weaning and droving weaners to their new paddocks was a really smooth process.

Calves weighed well and settled down extremely quickly in the weaning yard. The mothers seemed happy enough to “lose” their offspring with very  few returns to the yards !

We are assured of a good crop of future sires in a couple of years with pleasing weaning weights and temperament all around.

Max and Prue love weaning time also and are proving a big help !

Things were getting a bit dusty in the weaning yards , so sprinklers were turned on

Once home, Lance gives the weaner bulls some closer attention to test for temperament and assessment

On the road again after a week at home.  Weaner heifers are taken out to their new paddock

After a further drafting and yarding at home , weaner bulls  also are walked out to their final new paddock

Weaning is now finished for the year and all are happily putting on weight and growing out for the year .
